My sense of smell is my secret weapon.
Every time I employ it I feel like a super spy straight out of historical London.
After 30 years of not understanding how to harness my sense of smell, (and other people’s senses of smell – more on that in a moment) I have turned into an olfactory sorceress.
Our sense of smell is the fastest reacting sense we have, and deeply connected to emotion and memory. Learning how to bypass my pesky thoughts and connect to my feelings has been a tremendous asset in my life and business.
I wanted to share these secrets with you because until about a year ago I had no idea how powerful my sense of smell was, and how many opportunities I was missing out on.
For anyone wanting to start exploring the art of scent (and not just straight up perfume), think about one thing you want more of in your life. Focus? Love? Relaxation? Less pain? Scents can help you achieve all of that and more!
I now use potions, mists, tinctures and sprays to accomplish my goals quickly, to use the nose for good – whether it’s working from home in my business, running errands, fighting a headache or going out on a date: there’s a scent for that.
Working From Home
I live by myself and work from home, which means if left up to my own devices, I could spend HOURS staring out the window not getting anything done. Now, when I find myself caught in the sit-and-stare cycle of unproductivity, I use my Quick Study.
It’s a roll on blend of myrtle, stimulating lemon, uplifting orange, balancing geranium, and grounding cedarwood. It awakens my brain, lifts the fog, and I knock projects out with ease and speed. It’s a productivity secret weapon.
A Love Potion That Works
I picked up a 4 ounce bottle that read “Divine Love” and scoffed – I was unsure how a tincture was going to bring me the great love it promised. The store owner cautioned me, “It’s very strong. It’s one of our best.” I impulse bought it and holy moly it works!
It’s a blend of roses, geranium, ylang ylang and a few other flowers. Every time I wear it out, I get very strong reactions from people. I’m talking, dramatic hand kisses, flowers bought, tons of attention, free upgrades at the smoothie bar, you name it. I’ve noticed a dramatic spike in the type and amount of attention I receive. It’s fun and flirty, and a super fun boost when I’m out on the town.
Wellness Warrior
Tension headache from staring too much at a computer screen? Feeling stressed out? Wish your brain would just unwind? Peppermint Halo is my one stop product for these types of maladies. I get pretty bad headaches and in the past when I felt them coming on, it was a combination of Advil + Ice + Sleep, over the course of many hours to ease the pain. Until one day at a friends house, there was no Advil but there was Peppermint Halo, a potent mix of peppermint, eucalyptus and lavender oils that immediately soothed my headache. I was hooked. Now, when I feel tension and stress in my temples, I immediately roll on my Peppermint Halo and the pain eases.
