Change Glorious Change
“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
~Apple, Inc.
I’ve been sitting on a secret weapon for years. It’s something that will radically change the way people relate to themselves, to the world and to life itself. And it will turn the personal development world on its head and change lives. Of this I’m sure.
It took a lot of courage for me to write that last sentence. I’m not one to wax poetic about my gifts, it goes against everything I was taught (culturally) growing up. But it’s not serving me or the greater good, if I don’t share what I know and the fun tools I’m developing. It’s time to own that shit once and for all!
It wasn’t until a few weeks ago that this realization hit me — it’s time to spread the love and release what I know out into the world, so that it can help people live more present and fulfilled lives. It’s time. And I’m ready. In a BIG way!
What helped me have this big a-ha?It was during a guest teaching call I did for a super rad group founded by our very own guest editor Sally Hope.
We talked all about the senses and how using them can help you live a more amazing life. Deceptively simple, yet when practiced, it’s THE most powerful thing I’ve ever tried. And God knows I’ve tried a lot.
During the call, I felt every single cell in my body firing on all cylinders. I was in my element. It felt like runner’s high or when a musician gets into the ‘zone’ and all that he/she sees, hears, feels is the music. It was magical. And everyone on the other end of the line could feel it.
A few days later I reconnected with Sally and we had a really genuine heart-to-heart and she said a few words to me that hit like a sonic boom. I’m not going to share our conversation (I don’t like to kiss and tell, tee hee), but suffice it to say, it was golden. And ever since then I feel like I’ve got a brand new set of eyes to see the world with.
Sometimes it’s that simple — a call with a friend, a walk around the neighborhood or one bite of a meal rocks your world and makes everything change shape.
But more often it’s more subtle. More often it’s about paying attention to the small nudges, the nuances, the seemingly irrelevant details, the instinctual hits — that will guide you to your next steps. And that’s what I’m ready to help you with. And it all starts with your six senses.
I’m sharing all of this not-so-randomness with you, my sweet reader and friend because things are going to be shifting around here a bit. Don’t worry, I won’t be changing things up dramatically, but there will be a stronger, more powerful emphasis on the six senses, as that is my work in the world and I want to start to embody that more here on the blog as well as in all areas of my work and life.
So we’ll be talking a lot about why your senses are like the holy grail, the profound shifts in my own life from using my senses consciously and how you can experiment at home with the concepts. I’ll be inviting in sensory experts to share their wisdom with us and in general, being your go-to-gal for all things related to living life in tune with your senses. Are you down? I hope so! ‘Cause it’s gonna be FUN!!
There will be more exciting changes in the near future (‘cause as with everything in life, change is a constant), but I promise you will be kept in-the-know every step of the way.
After all, I created this platform for YOU. To inspire you. To help guide you. And to be an anchor and beacon of light here on the world wide web. I hope that The Girl Who Knows is that for you. And that you continue to stick around. This is just the beginning!
