Another amazing story about the power of the internet, is my relationship with our beautifully talented Guest Editor, Nicole Strack!
Nicole somehow discovered this site, back in the early days. She commented on some posts and reached out via email. Then she joined my first ever Desire Map Workshop and we got to meet in person. It was like meeting a long lost friend, or soul sister.
The first thing I thought when I met her is, “this girl has it goin’ on”! Her infectious smile, genuine excitement and zest for life and joyful love of her man, inspired every single person at the workshop. She’s a magnetic personality and a deeply soulful woman. I’m so grateful to have her wisdom and insight here on The Girl Who Knows!
Enjoy getting to know the lovely Nicole Strack!

I’m so excited for our readers to get to know you better, lady! Let’s dive right in. Tell us a bit about you. What do you do + create + love?
I was born & raised in a suburb north of Chicago. I am currently living “of the world” aka – I’m nomad-ing with my husband and don’t have a permanent address. Currently for my bread & butter, I’m a number cruncher for a consulting company. And I loooooove to learn, grow, and share personal development teachings with the world!
I love that. So cool that you balance work + blogging + nomad-ing and more – sounds like quite an adventure! I know you write and I’m curious, why did you initially decide to start writing a blog?
In my life, I’ve found a huge source of my learnings & growings to be from sources outside myself. As I experienced life and had growings & learnings of my own to share, I wanted to offer them to the world with the hopes that even one person would benefit from hearing my story. My intention is to shorten the learning curve for people, as well as to show them what’s possible in life.
I love that you’re all about sharing! It seems like a very organic way to start something like a blog. What do you feel is most important about the words you write and work you do?
I believe the work of transformational growth has the power to change the world. My ideal outcome is that every human operates from a place of passion, joy, fulfillment, empowerment, and service.
So, even though you love what you do, there must be days when it’s tough. How do you stay motivated and inspired every day?
Admittedly, there are times when my motivation wanes, and in those times I remind myself of my WHY (see above), and my role in making my WHY a reality. I wholeheartedly believe that everyone has the power to change the world, and that begins with me!
Ok, I want to shift to another topic, The Senses (which as you know is kind of my obsession). What is your favorite (or predominant) sense? How do you use your senses to help you live a more rich + fulfilling life?
My favorite sense is touch . . . it’s my love language. I use it to live a more rich + fulfilling life by connecting with people through hugging, snuggling, walking arm-in-arm, holding hands, etc. When I’m connecting with someone through touch, our energies combine to form one super energy field and I love it.
Yep, I totally agree about touch (it’s transformative)! Given what you said above, why do you think our senses are so important to our lives?
Because they add pizzazz to my life! Because of my senses, I can experience & appreciate my life on so many different levels.
Let’s get practical here – what are some of your favorite ways to indulge your senses?
CHOCOLATE. CHOCOLATE. CHOCOLATE. Snuggles in soft sheets. Kisses. Hot showers. Listening to music. Perusing colorful photos & paintings.
And what specific things light your senses up?
My hubsby. My tribe. Beaches. Fresh pasta with Alfredo sauce. Woods/Forests. SugarFISH. Italy. Mountains.
You and I are definitely on the same page (pasta + chocolate + Italy = yes please). Now, shifting directions a tad, let’s talk birthdays (because I love ‘em). What’s your ideal way to celebrate your birthday?
Having a low key celebration with my peeps, delicious food, board games, and lots & lots of laughing!!
What are you working on right now that feels amazing (like a celebration)?
On December 1st I started a 1-Thing-a-Month project during which I focused on ONE creative outlet every day for the month. My goal was to intentionally & committed-ly learn & practice a creative outlet for at LEAST a month, because in past I’ve been a notorious *shiny object* person. I’d get excited about something for a few days and then I’d stop pursuing it because something else caught my eye! Now I’m committed to sticking with it for at least a month, and I. AM. STOKED!!!
One last question: what do you know, for sure?
Love is a choice.
