In our weekend round-up, we focus on a curated selection of posts, for each of your six senses.
Plus a little bonus called DO GOOD. Because we believe in giving back and doing good. And there are so many great people + organizations out there, doing just that.
Miscellany.
Simple. Beautiful. Inspirational. And probably funny.
Grab a cup ‘o tea, a latte, or some other deliciousness and dig in.

I burned my very first ritual candle from my beloved crystal shop, Spellbound Sky, about 9 months ago. It was a rainbow chakra balancing candle, poured under a full (or new) moon and dressed with affirmations, oils and crystals to enhance its work. I did as intstructed and burned the candle straight until it extinguished itself (about 6 days). And I kid you not, crazy amazing things happened during those 6 days. I don’t want to say much more, because I want you to experience their potency for yourself. Call Mark and Martin and order a candle for yourself. Or if you’re in Los Angeles, visit their Silverlake shop. Get ready for some magic!
I’ve spent years coloring my hair. Processing and bleaching and putting toxic chemicals onto my scalp. When my hair began revolting about two years ago, I sought out the advice of well-known enzyme colorist and aromatherapy expert, Linda Kammins. Ever since seeing Linda, my hair feels more healthy, more vibrant and yes, happier! A big part of the switch has also been to a healthier shampoo. Linda hand makes her line of hair care products and they absolutely work (and smell divine). I have a bottle of her Sweet Herb shampoo in my possession at all times. It’s the best!
You can check out more about Linda’s hair painting technique here. Be sure to get your hands on a bottle of her shampoo (and her hair rinse). Healthy products = healthy hair.
The first 2 minutes and 38 seconds of Prince Ea’s spoken word video is quite frankly depressing (keep in mind it’s only 3 minutes and 50 seconds total). And yet, he’s right. Our world is in turmoil. But the beauty of his honest, truthful thoughts is undeniable. Love is the most powerful weapon on the face of the earth. Love.
I discovered Sticks & Stones as one of Martha Stewart’s American Made nominees. I love that someone is bringing a beatuiful sense of detail, craftsmanship and sophistication to the realm of “soul” products. Dipped by hand (by creator Sarah Foelske), each sumptuous leather bag features an array of stones, charms, aromatics and objects that connect you back to your spirit. The branding + packaging is absolutely gorgeous. I’m such a fan!
From their beautiful craft paper packaging, thoughtful, seasonal menu selections, delightful customer service and downright tasty food — Heirloom LA, one of Los Angeles’ best catering companies, has it going on! Whether you’re planning an event for hundreds or a small backyard dinner with friends or a workshop for 17 desiring souls, Heirloom will take care of everything and leave your taste buds buzzing for hours after.
If you haven’t seen this amazing video, or heard about Brittany Maynard, please watch this short video. It is powerful, moving and has helped me understand a very sensitive topic in a whole new way. You can read more about Brittany’s story on her website and learn more about death with dignity here.
Congratulations to the beautiful, eloquent and brilliantly gifted Malala Yousafzai, who just received a very well deserved Nobel Peace Prize. She is a role model and inspiration to us all! This week — do good, by donating to the Malala Fund to support education for girls around the globe.
