In our weekend round-up, we focus on a curated selection of posts, for each of your six senses.
Plus a little bonus called DO GOOD. Because we believe in giving back and doing good. And there are so many great people + organizations out there, doing just that.
Miscellany.
Simple. Beautiful. Inspirational. And probably funny.
Grab a cup ‘o tea, a latte, or some other deliciousness and dig in.

I’m a big fan of books. And by extension bookshelves. A perfectly organized, color coded bookshelf is a work of art. When I landed on this blog, BookShelf Porn, I had an eyegasm (yes that’s a thing). If you’re a book nerd like me, you’re gonna wanna bookmark this for frequent perusing. Your welcome.
One of my most beloved of life’s pleasures is trying out new natural beauty regiments. I especially love skincare products but I’m indiscriminate in my love. Makeup, body products, perfumes, you name it. Cleansing and caring for my skin is a bit of a ritual for me. It is tactile, sensual and floods my senses with pure pleausre. When I discovered May Lindstrom’s products, I knew I’d found a kindred soul. Her products are all about creating ritual. They are luxurious, elegant and expertly refined. And they smell absolutely heavenly! I love everything I’ve sampled, but The Clean Dirt has to be one of my favorites. It’s an incredible facial exfoliant and a must try if you’re a sensualist like me!
Earlier this week I had a healing session with Natalie Kalustian from Pure Nada. I’m stepping into a bigger role with this website and my work in the world. I knew it was time to clear away any energy that wasn’t serving me anymore. Natalie was just the woman and healer I needed. Her work is multi-layered. It incorporates energy healing, bodywork and sound tones. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever experienced and has left me feeling profoundly renewed. I can’t recommend Natalie enough (she’s based in LA but does phone sessions for those not in the area).
With Summer on our heels and Fall almost here, I’m on a bootie hunt. And I’ve found THE perfect pair. Loeffler Randall makes, in my opinion, the best shoes for the price point. Incredibly comfortable, beautifully constructed, perfectly tanned leathers and classic style with a modern edge. I’m a long time fan of theirs. The perfect go-with-everything shoe meets boot, that will carry you through multiple years of wear.
Yummy Supper looks yummy indeed! Written by Berkeley based home cook + photographer + author Erin Scott, this refreshing cookbook focuses on seasonal, fresh foods (that also happen to be gluten-free). Definitely get your hands on a copy of her book and check out her fantastic blog which is filled with yummy recipes + resources.
I’m a big fan of Jason Silva’s Shot’s of Awe videos. They’re always poignant and explore the depths of the human soul. In this video he talks about our humanness and the inherent bliss and sadness at the awareness of our own mortality. It’s a bit heavy, but yet quite nice to hear someone talk real talk about death. It brings up so much fear that most of us turn our heads. We bury it in the sand, so that we don’t have to face the fact that we are all headed to the same place. But there’s something refreshing and even comforting about acknowledging and talking about this reality.
Last night a committed group of celebrities, musicians and artists gathered for a one hour special to raise funds for Stand Up 2 Cancer, an organization dedicated to raising funds that will help accelerate research and get new therapies to patients quickly. They are on the forefront of cancer research and doing some amazing work! Cancer has touched us all in some way or another.
I lost my grandmother less than two years ago, our family’s best friend Greg, a beloved yoga teacher, and have several friends who are currently battling cancer. I am so passionate about eradicating this disease and helping scientists do the research they need to help make that dream happen. Do what you can, and give to SU2C!
