Welcome!

If you’ve been reading for any length of time, you’ll notice that things look a bit different around here today.
New. Shiny. Clear. Clean. A brand new look for a longtime dream!

You see, I have always dreamed of having a lifestyle brand.
I admire and have been influenced by many of the popular sites out there today: Oprah, Refinery 29, Rue Magazine and even GOOP.

But for years, I’ve grown ever more frustrated by the lack of depth and soulfulness present in a lot of the posts I read. Not to mention the complete void of multi-cultural/bi-racial voices like mine.

Why can’t we talk about shoes and spirituality in the same place?
Why aren’t there more hapas, more latinas, more asian americans, who are sharing their stories alongside everyone else?
Why isn’t there a beautiful destination online (or off) where like-minded friends can gather to explore what really matters and learn more about life (ideally over an elegantly down-to-earth meal prepared by a superstar chef)?
Because this place didn’t exist, I decided to create it.

But let me back up a little bit.
Let me explain what the new + improved Girl Who Knows is all about.

During my first foray into The Birthday Month Experience, I began to more deeply explore my six senses. I dedicated entire days to scent. I took lots of minutes to observe sunsets. I cranked Spotify and immersed myself in song. I wrapped myself in luxurious cashmere to meditate. I paid very close attention to my intuition and began to listen to and trust it more.

Learning to indulge in my six senses turned out to be the cornerstone of my personal development journey.

I credit this practice with radically changing my outlook on life and giving me some much desired clarity of purpose (which led to the radical transformation of The Girl Who Knows).

After some lengthy inner turmoil and a whopping 15 minutes with a legit biz coach, I distilled these sensory lessons learned and began to see what The Girl Who Knows is all about. FINALLY!

The Girl Who Knows is a new kind of lifestyle destination.
A place where people come together to learn how to live from their senses.
A place where we share our love of the best black leather booties of the season AND talk real talk about how to have more self-love.
A place where we tackle the deep stuff AND the “fluff” – in equal measure.

You can read more about our mission HERE.

And you won’t be hearing from just me anymore. Every quarter the site will host a half-dozen curated Guest Editors who will take up residence on the site, writing about what’s in their heart. I’m so excited for you to hear from other writers who are equally as passionate about living from their senses and sharing their soulful wisdom with the world as I am.
Read all about our current Guest Editors HERE.

I’m so proud of what we’re creating . And I’m truly honored to have you on the journey with us. I hope you’ll stick around and glean lots and lots of inspiration from the writers here.

And even better, I hope you’ll join me in person at one of our pop-up dinners or sensory immersion experiences, which will be launching very soon. More on that HERE.

Thank you for being a part of this community.
Thank you for inspiring me to create this online place for us to gather.

I am forever grateful to you for being here and look forward to sharing loads of insight, beauty and FUN with you in the days, months and years to come!

With love,

Steph Signature with heart
