During my last post, I talked to you about the importance of focusing on and celebrating what you love most about your body, as it relates to your style. Well, this post is essentially the sister post to my last one.

Now that we’ve spent some time celebrating your body, let’s spend some time examining your spirit a bit. You may be wondering if I’m about to get woo-woo on you, and the answer is . . . maybe, a little. 😉

Your spirit is what makes you, you. It is the thing that sets you a part from every other human on this planet . . . it is your signature.

The thing about our spirit is that for most of our early lives, we do our best to tame it. We do this because we want to fit in and be accepted, and being different hasn’t ever been conducive to fitting in.

We don’t realize the type of damage this has on our psyche until well into our adult years. Once we realize this, it seems like we spend most of our adult life trying to reconnect to our spirit.

What does your spirit have to with style?

Style is the visual declaration of who you are to yourself, and to the world. It is a physical representation of your inner self (your spirit). Style without spirit just falls flat. It’s following all the top fashion trends even if they don’t resonate with you.

I can’t think of anything more important to your personal style than infusing your spirit into it. Your style is the area in your life where you should feel completely free to shine . . . fully and wholeheartedly.

There’s no one else in the world like you, and that means no one else in the world can have your personal style. So remember, every time you create an outfit with your spirit in mind, you are creating a piece of your legacy!

And to celebrate and honor YOUR legacy, I am offering up another challenge and hope you’re down to join me:

Not only would I like you to create 3 outfits that you feel conveys the essence of your spirit best, but I would also love for you to share your look(s) on social media (using hashtag #CelebrateMySpirit). And here’s why: your courage to share will inspire others to do the same.

We’re all in this together! Celebrating what makes us different and unique is a big key to loving our bodies and loving our style.

I’ll sign off with one of my all-time favorite quotes by Marianne Williamson and look forward to meeting your stylish spirit online soon!

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people will not feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone and as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give others permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
