When was the last time you wrote a heartfelt letter to Santa?

Until a few years ago it had been more than 27 years since I’d written to the jolly guy. And admittedly it wasn’t high on my priority list. But after a rather difficult year, it felt like something I needed to do. And wouldn’t you know it, it made my Christmas that year! You can read that letter here.

This year, I felt like it would be a nice gesture to write Mr. and Mrs. Clause again, with my wishes for 2015 and my gratitude for all the gifts of 2014. It’s one of the most fun things I do all year long. It helps me tap into my inner child, that sense of wonder at the magic of the holiday season, but with an adult lens on the world.

In the spirit of Christmas I give you  . . . my letter to Santa:

Dear Santa,

I’m so glad that I sat down to write you again. My letter to you in 2012 made me realize how much I’ve missed writing to you. And so, I’m sitting down, and writing to you and the Mrs. to tell you both how grateful I am for 2014.

I’m so grateful for the gifts I received this year (that I’m sure you had a small hand in, *wink* *wink*). My new website. A definitive direction for my business. Exciting collaborations. A renewed sense of purpose. Our new home! Another year with my sweet kitty babies. Inspiration around every corner. Friends that are like family. A soul mate who I continue to grow with and love. Improved health and wellness. And plenty of other goodies that are too numerous to list here. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. For all of it.

As for 2015, I’m wishing . . .

  • for unshakeable trust in my self
  • an open heart
  • love letters
  • more snail mail
  • quiet moments with the ones i love
  • a trip to Paris
  • improved health + vitality
  • to discover the world’s best hot chocolate
  • create a renewed love of birthdays for thousands around the world
  • continued passion and inspired wisdom at The Girl Who Knows
  • a puppy
  • cultivate deeper relationships with the ones i love
  • peace on earth

That’s it. Simple. Elegant. Deep. Filled with love.
Happy holidays + have fun on your mission to deliver gifts of love ’round the world (you’re such a badass)!

Now over to you . . .

If you haven’t written a letter to Santa (maybe in years), consider this your invitation. Sit down with pen and paper (the ‘ol fashioned way) and write a list of the gifts you’ve been given this year that you’re thankful for, along with some wishes for 2015. Post it to Santa at the North Pole. And trust that he will help grant you everything you wish for in the upcoming year.

I hope this little exercise inspires you and leaves you feeling as joyful as it did me.

Merry Christmas!
