MEET THE GIRL…

I’m Stephanie Watanabe.  
Video is my medium. Eclecticism is my strength.
And beauty is my fuel.

I’m an irrepressible entrepreneur, proud hapa, lifelong filmmaker, one-time spa manager, mochi fanatic, impromptu art director, and insatiable seeker of beauty. For starters.

I’m a multi-passionate, multi-talented, multi-media champion of art, business & creativity. And here at The Girl Who Knows, I’m offering a curated collection of stories, tools, products & discoveries designed to infuse your world with inspired action.

Because when you’re highly inspired, the chasm between possible & impossible starts to look a whole lot smaller.

I work privately with filmmakers & lifestyle brands who want to revive their passion, focus their energy, and launch something definitively, unquestionably unique. (But more on that, here.) 

And when the right project rolls along, I roll up my sleeves and create music videos, films & documentaries. (It’s rare, these days. But always delicious.)  

I’m honored to be here with you & to share my thoughts on life, love, business and Bulgarian rose & beeswax body balms.

And remember . . . this is all my 2-cents.

 If you’ve made it this far, you’ve probably fallen hard for my myriad charms.  And you probably want to know everything about me.  Right? Of course.

Let’s stick with the facts. They make the best stories.

: I grew up the eldest of three, in a Japanese + American (French-American Indian-German-Italian) + Mormon (!!) household, in a remarkably homogeneous community in the Midwest. Off to an interesting start, already…
  
: In high school, I was a rampant theater geek. Just like GLEE.  Minus the slushies.

: I never wanted a ‘normal’ job. Never-ever-nuh-uh-no-thanks.  So I graduated (with honors) from the American Film Institute.  The #1 film school in the world. Just sayin’.   

: By my 31st birthday, I’d helped launch & manage three different companies — a production company that scored me a seat at AFI, a film & video think tank, and a boutique event design + production company.   

: For a brief spell, I worked as a talent agent’s assistant in Hollywood.  Think: Anne Hathaway in Devil Wear’s Prada, minus the free Chanel bags. I’ve seen the light & dark side of fame, power & access.  And like they say on Facebook — it’s complicated.   

: I identify as an HSP. An INFP. The Connoisseur. I’m a snake. A Type 2 (with hints of 4, 3 and 7). A Taurus. And my North Node is in Libra.

: For pure pleasure & personal expansion, I’ve studied yoga, ayurveda, life coaching, filmmaking, entrepreneurship, social media marketing and photography. I weave elements of everything I learn into my own life & business — and by extension, into yours.   

: Put simply — I chase inspiration. And it always leads me home.
