Internship: The Girl Who Knows (Lifestyle Blog, Workshops & Events)
Location: East Los Angeles, CA
Start Date: Week of March 9, 2015
End Date: Week of May 18, 2015 (with the possiblity of extension to summer internship if interested)
Schedule: At least 1 full-day per week in-person, other work may be done off-site

Company Description:
The Girl Who Knows is an destination online (and off) for all things sensory and soulful. We are a digital lifestyle magazine/blog, led by Founder, Stephanie Watanabe. We also create digital programs, host in-person workshops, events and pop-up dinners. We are focused on providing beautifully crafted, one-of-a-kind sensory experiences (and in the future, custom products), that foster community and meaningful conversation.

 

About the Founder:
Stephanie Watanabe is a writer, editor, longtime filmmaker and creative consultant. She is intensely passionate about helping people to connect with their senses, as a way to live a more rich, meaningful and joy-filled life.

She has previously worked at Creative Artists Agency, Disney, Paula LeDuc Fine Catering, International Orange Spa Yoga Lounge, McMullen Shop and helped launch a boutique event studio and film production think tank in the Bay Area. She has extensive experience in the film, event, and lifestyle industries and is a supporter of the arts (as well as a variety of charitable organizations).

 

About the internship program:
At The Girl Who Knows, students will have a chance to develop strong communication and professional skills to give them a competitve advantage in the workforce.

Specifically, all interns will receive . . .

While this is an unpaid internship, it is designed to be an educational and career advancing experience, where students will be doing meangingful work. There is also the possibility of it become a part-time paid position in the future.

What We’re Looking For:

If you have experience with and access to the Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Photoshop) and/or WordPress, please indicate so in your cover letter. Also, please indicate whether you are savvy with social media platforms.
