I’m Stephanie Watanabe (not-so-secret alias – The Girl Who Knows). I’m a writer, former filmmaker, conscious business advisor, and seeker of the extraordinary. I love helping people (re)access their six senses so that they can have more full + vibrant lives. I create one-of-a-kind pop-up dinner experiences and host sensory immersion workshops here at The Girl Who Knows.

As a youngster, I dreamt of being a filmmaker and followed that passion all the way to the American Film Institute, after which I spent several years working in entertainment at companies like Creative Artists Agency and Disney. After following my heart to the Bay Area, I switched gears and began producing events for companies like Lucasfilm, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Yahoo, and Google, as well as countless weddings and private events. I co-founded Atelier Joya, an event design + floral studio, and then meandered my way back to filmmaking and helped launch the feature documentary Recovering Irma, while teaching eager film students in Berkeley.

I’m a perpetual student of life and as such have become a certified yoga teacher (prenatal + kids yoga), a life + business coach, and am fluent in the language of digital marketing and social media. I’m a multi-passionate entrepreneur, a proud mixed-race woman and an aesthete who has a fondness for matcha, photography, travel, spa days, The Goonies, and obscure print magazines. I’m a gastronome who loves N/Naka AND taco trucks. And if you treat me to anything created by Eric Ripert – I just might love you forever (and ever).

What I know:

There’s nothing that a hot bath and a good cry won’t solve.
